It’s peach season in the Northwest right now, which means it’s time to pull out my all time favorite peach cobbler recipes. I tried this recipe a year or two ago from allrecipes.com. I have tried a few other recipes for peach cobbler, but this one is the ultimate winner. I honestly have no desire to try others now that I’ve found this one. The cobbler topping is sweet and crispy. It’s unlike other cobblers I’ve had. The peaches cook well and their flavor is preserved in this recipe. I definitely suggest it!

To make the peaches:
8 fresh peaches – peeled, pitted and sliced into thin wedges
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons cornstarch
Blanch the peaches in boiling water for about 1 minute to make removing the skin easier. Let cool enough to skin and cut into thin wedges. I cut most of my peaches into eighths. Then combine peach wedges with the remaining ingredients (sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice and corn starch). Mix well and then transfer to a baking dish. Bake peaches for 10 minutes on 425 degrees.
While the peaches are baking, make the topping:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup boiling water
Mix together the flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl. Once dry ingredients are mixed well, cut the butter into small pieces and mix in with a pastry blender (or fork/your hands). The mixture should look crumbly and the butter should be well incorporated. Then, add the boiling water and stir until everything is combined. Scoop parts of this mixture and plop on top of the peaches.
Lastly:
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle evenly on top of cobbler. Return to the oven for about 30 minutes. The topping should be golden brown and the peaches bubbling.
Let cool a bit, and serve warm with creamy vanilla ice cream.

The finished cobbler. At this point my entire house smelled heavenly!

This was AMAZING!! Made it for work everyone loved it and wanted the recipe!!
OMG !! looks and smells heavenly…. yum, yum and double yum. very easy recipe once the peaches are poached and peeled.
I made this recipe today it tastes pretty good, but only because I added extra cinnamon, & lemon. I added about 3 tablespoons of lemon, and triple the cinnamon recommended. I made it once before and it was kind of bland. Trust me. Im a picky eater.
Peeling the peaches is a pain in the butt, but OH MY LANTA MY HOUSE SMELLS SO GOOD. Once you get past the peaches though, very very easy and delicious.
I agree! That’s my least favorite part – but it’s worth it! 🙂
Made this for a birthday dessert. It was truly delicious!
absolutely loved this. I started using your recipe last fall and it has been a tremendous hit every time I make it! I have a batch in the oven as we speak – we’re having a celebration dinner for my in-laws and the house smells SO GOOD!!!
Oh good, I am so happy to hear that you love it! It’s definitely one of our favorites as well.
I’m going to try it. It looks delicious. But make peach cobbler all of the time. And they are always good. You see my mother was born and raised in Georgia
I just love peach cobbler! Hope you enjoy this recipe!
I made two dishes of the peach cobbler; one for home and one for work and it was a hit at both places. My 7 yr old twins loved it and my co-workers are asking when will I make this again. This peach cobbler rocks!!
Oh, I am so glad!
What size baking dish was used.
I believe it was my 11″ by 8″ pan.
My brother in law requested peach cobbler for his birthday. Boy is he in for a treat because I’ve already made it for my husband and it was the bomb!
Can’t wait to try this out! Hope I can find peaches that look as ripe and delicious as those on one of my HOPEgrocerybags!
Really great recipe. I used 1 tablespoon lemon juice and frozen peaches instead. Did exact same thing but just tossed frozen peaches with sugars, spices etc and baked about 13-14 min instead of 10 and continued with recipe. Came out amazing 🙂
What size baking dish is required
very good
Have anyone try can peaches or frozen peaches? Thanks!
I have only tried it with fresh peaches. However, I have made berry pies with frozen fruit and usually it just requires thawing or increasing the baking time. I would be careful of the added syrup/sugar if using canned peaches.
This is my first time making a cobbler. Peeling the peaches not too fun. However the house smells Heavenly 😇 I didn’t have enough peaches so added some blueberries, strawberries and a kiwi…. YUMMM
